Recently I’va added a new digital lingerie pattern to my Etsy shop, the butterfly bra In the front and in the back scalloped lace is shaped like the wings of a butterfly. This always gives a super adorable effect! To get this effect in the cups is quite a challenge but using it in the back of your bra can be done more easily.

Decorating the Underwire Seam

This week I finally could take some time to sew me a new bra shirt for myself to wear. That always seems to be a designers faith, creating gorgeous stuff for others while ending up with testing ‘just not right’ items yourself … This time I wanted to test a decorative scalloped edge along the underwire seam. 

Finishing up!

Well, this project is finally coming to an end. With all drawing done I could place them where they belong, as an illustration for the sewing descriptions and the patterns themselves neatly together on a large A1 sheet. 

Step 30 : drawing all done

Developing a sewing pattern to sell not just  asks for bra making skills, a lot of drawing and writing is involved as well. It’s quite different from drawing a pattern for your own use. 

Step 28 : PRE-ORDER started

The new pattern will get the code name EFG40. Today I’ve sent out the Merckwaerdigh newsletter offering a discount pre-order for this new pattern. 

Step 27 : grading headaches

The whole point of sewing the oher plunge bra is to see whether the proportions of each pattern part will be the same in bigger sizes. 

Step 25 : following the power bar

Although the design did not work out it was not a totall waist. The outside power bar worked well and is going to stay.

Time for another quick fleece test with the pattern I worked out last time. I did fix the lacking measurements before sewing of course.
